Just curious...

Seems like a fun tool to mess with.

Thanks!

Richie - search for the stuff liquidguitars and fiddlemakermills makes - that'll answer your questions. Those guys are something else.

If you were to scan them and make patterns. You can only carve a max depth of 3/4" so use two 3/4" pieces or one 2X (1 1/2"). What has works for me is to leave 1/8" around the edges to hold the piece in place while carving, then break it loose and sand that off. I you used 2X stock, place your pattern in a rectangle carve region. Initially set it to 3/4" deep and place you pattern at 3/4" also. Now copy the rectangle and the pattern to the back of the board and flip the pattern. You should be able to see thru the board to line everything up. Snap to grid will help here also. When all is lined up change the depth of the carved region on both sides of the board to something less than 3/4" - maybe 11/16". When carved this will leave a thin sheet holding your piece in place.

Well Thanks for the responses... I didn't realize the carvewright had a max depth of 3/4", so a max depth of 1.5" when doing either side?

I saw some of those liquid guitars pretty impressive. Someone on here has got to have an AK, they should scan and do a proof of concept ;)

Thanks again for the responses.
