machine stuck in "install cutting bit" do loop

The project starts and goes through the install bit part, then through a homing do loop but comes right back to the install bit instruction. Any ideas?

Hi Old Gringo,
I checked the night time temp in Albuquerque, is your machine in a cold room? That causes all kinds of funny problems and in my experience even if you address one, another one will pop up. Then you end up over correcting and really wreck something. If a machine does get cold it takes several hours at warmer temp to level out.

Try this:

Check that the bit touch plate is extending all the way out and that the bit touches the center of the plate.
