Am I daft or did I not read somewhere that centerline text was included with the software for the scanning probe?

Neg, the two are seperate purchases. Centerline is already on your software all you are doing is purchasing the license to activate Centerline.

And the probe comes with it's own softwareediting software.
By the way, Lowe's has the bit set for $346.xx I think and the probe for $218.xx on there website.

I saw that price for the bit set on lowe's website. It's $300 direct from carvewright. And I picked up the bit set at the woodworking show last night for $250.

That looks like quite a savings on the Probe. When I brought it up it listed the pattern editor software as being included. That's about $80.00 savings! Or am I crazy?

So is there an alternative to doing a single line text? Hate to spend another $100 for the centerline text? If not, anyone have a better source for centerline license?

Hi Ray,
Over a year or so ago a few of the folks on the forum found a couple work a rounds for Centerline that helpd a few people out in a pinch,
but they weren’t very convenient to use. You may still be able to read about them if you do a forum search of the early posts about Centerline.

When you get your CW or CC Machine, the Centerline text feature is already embedded in the CW Designer Software.
If you buy the Centerline text from CarveWright, you’re actually buying the license.
CarveWright will Email a code to register the new Centerline license and the CL option will be added to your text options in designer.
The Centerline licenses are only available from CarveWright.
I for one, along with many others are very pleased with the Center line text feature and feel it’s well worth the investment.

Thanks Ken,

Guess I am spending another $100. :( I am spoiled with using Mastercam. The centerline text seems like it should be a part of the machine's standard use. Less Z axis movement would help minimize the machine's wear. How fast does centerline text cut compared to the regular routing?

You are correct John. I just checked Lowe's and they had a note it would be in stores on or before Nov.28.
Even if cw matched this price you would still pay shipping.
So people get your probe from Lowe's but there are other places to get the bit set.

I went to the Lowe's link that you listed and it showed $298.00 for the price. Guess I missed that opportunity.

If you're in the market you need to jump on this before any increases go into effect.

Hope this helped,

Got that one. Why do they call it a "full" bit set when it doesn't include all the bits that CW supports?

Maybe because all the spots in the box are full?

Why do we call it a building when it's already built?
