I need to replace a couple of my bits in the bit adapters. Are there any tips or special procedures to remove the old bit and replace with a new bit? I recall something about heating the set screws to remove and using blue "Lock-tite" for re-setting the screws.

Thanks,

Haven't done it, but the threads I've seen say that you have to heat them up with a propane torch, or such. My guess is that you're trying to re-liquify the loctite, and then make sure you get it cleaned off the screw, and internal threads before it re-sets.

Rocky,
Attached is a pdf detailing the use of the bit adjustment tool to help you get your adapters set right. Page 39 of the Carvewright manual covers how to change out the adapters. It does call for heat to loosen the loctite. If you don't have your original copy, you can download a pdf of it here.
