Hey everyone, if you haven't heard, Lowes is now starting to carry the Carvewright machine!!! I'm not so excited about the machine (seeing as I already have one), but I'm hoping they will have the accessories in the store. Does anyone know of any details yet? Also, do you think it might be possible to get Lowes to order parts for it? If I remember correctly, Lowes doesn't charge for shipping when you have something special ordered. That would be nice.

Check it out. (http://www.carvewright.com/lowes/index.htm?jmid=11379&j=196080839)

Apperntly none of the Lowe's power tools people have any knowledge of this and they won't be carrying the CW in the store. It's only special order.

This is from an e-mail I got

CarveWright was also supposed to be at Ace Hardware.

Call one and see what they say!

Although I'm not certain of the details, I believe the CarveWright is being released only to select stores (in stages) so it's not suprising that some stores are not aware of the machine yet.

As an example, I ordered both my machines from our local Sears store. When I ordered my first machine, it was immediately after seeing the Sears "infommercial" on TV the night before. When I went into the Sears store the next day to place my order, they had no clue what I was talking about. I had them do a product search on their computer, they found it, ordered it for me, and I had it in my hands in three days.

A few months later, I went in to order another machine. This time the salesperson knew what I was talking about, but they still did not have a machine on display or in stock in the store itself. Again, I placed the order and it arrived in three days.

I'm thinking it is the same scenerio for some of the Ace stores, the WoodCraft stores and maybe even Lowes for the time being.

The associate I talked to in power tools did a search in their computer system and came up empty. Then he called someone higher up and again empty.

So even though it may be available it hasn't trickled down the information line enough yet. And it seems their product database needs to be updated because if he couldn't find it in the computer how could he special order one?

If it's not in the computer, he probably can't order one. I would have asked the associate to make a phone call to corporate headquarters while I was there, to make sure they were alerted to the problem.
