I carved a great detailed piece in foam this week end woorked well however the clean up is longer than wood I took the bottom plate off today and it was alot of pieces there

Yup, the Chips and Dust generated Foam, Acrylics, even Hard Surfaced Materials like Corian
all stick to everything inside and out side the machine, and add to the clean up time.
But as you mentioned the fine detail is well worth it -- most of the time.

Here's a couple I was just playing around with
Natural light gray in color 18 lb. SignFoam closed cell
high density foam all the spots that show up as webbing or open cells
had to by carved by the machine one at a time.
Fun stuff to carve, but a little expensive to work with. $300.00 plus per 1" x 4' x 8' sheet
