How do I copy and paste, within Pattern Editor?

I scanned 3 objects in, into one pattern.
Brought them into Pattern Editor.
Now I want to seperate them.
I use the rectangle tool to highlight one, perform a "cut", and it indeed goes away. I then open a new pattern window, but "paste" is not enabled.

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong....

That is true. However, I just found that if you select cut and cut the part that you want on the pattern, you can switch back to the actual project designer and select paste. The "Import Image" dialog box will appear with the snippet of the pattern that you had cut, allowing you to re-import it in.

Its a little crazy how it currently works, but it does work. :)

You could also
1) open the pattern,
2) cut what you don't want & crop
3) save the patten under a new name
4) reopen original pattern
5) rinse & repeat
