Violin plate pattern

For anyone instrested,

I sent a plan for the LeMessie Strad violin to HT at go3d.us (http://www.go3d.us/store/)

Note that this ptn is intended for hand finishing and fitting to the ribs. The pattern can be sized to different instrument 4/4, 3/4, 1/4, 1/16. I have not tried to enlarge to the Viola but may do so in the future. The hard part of the arching is carved by the CC/CW machine on a normal setting. The height and legnth setting can be adjusted to suit your needs.

The first pic is the test carve on mdf. I sprayed the plate with black paint to enhance the view of the plate in the second .

The pattern is a very reasonable price.

Here is a mpc of the pattern that I am working on. I know that it still needs work, just wanted to share the progress.

This design will have a 1/16 (0.0625) inch of ebony lamanated between the two halves. The scroll was left heavy for final carving and scraping by hand.
