I am making a 2-sided piece. After I carved the first side, I turned it over and it started to measure. It told me to check board. It's the same board, so I loosened it and retightened. It told me to press any key. When I did, I went back to menu. How can I start on the 2nd side instead of starting all over?

Jim,

the quickest and easiest way is to rework the project and remove the side that was already carved in the software. Then reload the project and start the carve.

Check the edge of your board and the fence. You may have a board out of square and it is rubbing against the fence and getting stuck. I have not used the fence before and it carved just fine.

But sounds like a board that is not square.

Also your carving on the back can't be more than 1/2" or 3/4" from the edge or the tracking roller won't work right.

Think you meant less than 1/2" :)

If the carving is less than 3/4 - 1/2 inch, you could tape the edge so the roller will measure it accurately or use "stretcher" or "carrier" boards.

Thanks for the correction, my mind was thinking ahead of my typing finger.
