After a year of no problems think every thing is going good, Do some clean up maint. Getting ready for the new project, take the 1/16 bit holder out of the chnck, and what happens? Parts of the quick change chuck fall out with the bit holder.

At least this explains the high speed vibration I was getting on the last project. Bummer now I have to wait till monday to order the part.

Sorry to hear the machine broke down. I learned to make sure the collet is clear of dust and oiled well. Even that won't keep it from breaking. Monday is only a couple days, makes me think I should order an extra one to have on hand?

Who would ever think that cleaning would ever lead to such problems.

The parts arrived today, followed the instructions with the exception of an extension for the wrench for better grip. 15 min. later the machine is up and running.

High speed vibration was eliminated.:)

With new cutter Carve quality went up. Checked the old cutter and found that the cutter dia. at the tip was undersized by .020. The new cutter was the correct size .0625 at the tip.

I don't know which was causing the vibration, either could account for it.

Really good service from LHR on this.

I did my share and carved a back plate for the daughters fiddle stareing at the machine that I wanted to run but couldn't. LoL

One other thing. This machine is safer to use than a chisel, LoL.

Mine is still down - waiting for new sandpaper belts to arrive and I have been designing projects non stop. I really miss having my machine.
