question? my laptop has a slot that the carvewrite card will fit in. Do I need to use the usb card holder or can I use the laptop slot. Can you use any memory card for the carvewrite?

Dale,

As a member of the Carvewright support team, I would recommend that you use the USB card holder that came with the machine. The memory card may look like a normal card, but the inner workings are totally different. Using the laptop slot will damage the card and possibly the slot on the laptop.

Also, you cannot use just any memory card for the Carvewright. You must use the one that came with your machine. If you would like an extra card, you can always purchase it from our online store or by calling us.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

From the FAQ section: [post (http://carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1624)]:

Note: Although the memory card looks like a standard PCMCIA card; it is not compatible with PCMCIA, and therefore should only be used with the provided programmer.
