lviele,

I believe that you are talking about the inset box where you control the bit-center offset. This allows you to position the actual bit-center a small amount (plus or minus). I find it most useful to move the 1/8" cut-out bit to the outside of the object the radius of the bit (-.063).

Inset - you can place the location of the bit numerically to your paths.

that the number! -.063

Note: In 1.126 you can not use this tool with "outline paths" so you will need to use 1.130 to get the full usage.

Brandon,

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. I use 1.126 and the inset option regularly!

Same way you do any vector path. This has been a feature from the first version. An outline is just an automatically drawn vector path. What bums me is you can't "break" them or circles and ovals.

I just put 1.20 on my laptop and it's there. 1.20 was the first version I used. I don't know if there were any earlier ones back in the beta days?

thats right it was and i was using it!

but I could not get insets to work with 1.26 at all. "outline generated paths" that is.

Hand made paths yes, raster outline no..

Edit:

Chris, Doc and Amonaug your right!

i installed 1.126 and like you said it works. it was version 1.123 that was not working ...
