If you got the deer from the "shared" galley you can just post it here too.

bigdoge99,

Great looking sign. Looks like 3 different carves. The buck really does standout. What is your finished dimensions?

Enclosed is the jpeg I used for the deer... I really don't remember where I got it from, either here or google images.

FW, It is actually two carves, the sides (cypress) are one that I cut in the middle, and the Deer (recovered pine 70+ years old) was done seperately. The deer is a relief carving and I cut the edges off where it originally cut down into the board, and glued it up with biscuits level with the sides leaving the Deer standing out from the rest of the sign... I'm also going to frame the sign sometime this week and finish it the rest of the way. The dimensions right now are 30x14, finished it will be 33x17 :)

Thanks for the added info. I will definitely have to give the raised technique a try. Great choice of wood also. They go great together and should be a great addition for the hunting club.

Just curious about that measuring/sign holder. Where'd you find it?
Craig

Craig, I found that at Home Depot about two weeks ago. It is a clamp table made by Workforce. I don't normally by their stuff (Workforce), but the table was only about $30 and included some bench dogs. The small ones at the top I got from Rockler, the dogs at the bottom came with the table along with a couple larger ones that are not shown. It has two wheel-handles beneath the top to adjust the pressure, slides one section of the table in or out. Both halves of the top have holes for the bench dogs. The clamp table will only accomadate up to a 14" wide piece, but it looks like it won't be too hard for me to make an extension that will at least double that.
