I see some folks complaining about the flash driver 1.130 and I think some of my minor issues might work better with 1.126. Don't know that it'll help, but I'd like to try it.

However, since I've already installed the 1.130 Designer update, I can't see a way to go back to the previous version. Can someone point me to a way to do this??

When I go to the Flash manager, the only version of the control.mwm file is for 1.130.

I have the 1.126 software but when I try to install it, I get a message that a later version is installed and it refuses to downgrade. Do I have to completely un-install 1.130 before I can then install 1.126??

Can I have both versions of designer installed? I like the new features of the Pattern Editor.

Thanks
Arkie

DiD you try installing 1.126 designer to a different folder?

I had no option to install at all. It simply recognized that I had a newer version (than 1.126) and wouldn't go any further... :(

Try looking on your C Drive and program files. See if you have the previous version of designer on there. If you do, find the gui.exe file.

Double click the gui.exe It should open the version.
After it opens, click on help and see what version it is. If 1.126 then do the flash manager and you should get 1.126 firmware.

Nope... I updated via the Help --> Check for updates so any previous version was overwritten.

I've never had any reason to keep more than one version active. I do have the exe files for some previous versions, but I really don't want to un-install 1.130 unless I have to but that may be the only solution.

It is. You can uninstall 1.13, install 1.126, then downgrade the card.
Then upgrade Designer to 1.13 and not upgrade the card.

ok... I un-installed 1.130 and installed 1.126... fine.
I flashed the card so it now has 1.126... fine.

I see that a few folks (are you listening fwharris?) say they have at least 2 versions on their computer. How do you cheat... er... fool the system that allows you to do that? More than 1 computer??

When I try to install 1.130 on my system where 1.126 is installed, I can only upgrade 1.126 o 1.130. I cannot install a separate copy of 1.130 even though 1.130 says it's a full installation package.

You could try installing 1.13 in a seperate folder from 1.126

Arkie,

Glad you did read my post!

My desk top has 1.120, original install when I got my CC.
I then got a lap top and got my 2nd license. I have not done any Designer upgrades on the desk top. I use the lap top for all of my CarveWright functions.

I do not recall who it was (I think carvebuddy) that said when 1.125 came on line to "copy" 1.120 to a different folder on the hard drive or rename it. Basically you then have a back up of the program. When the new version does the install you do not loose your prior version.

During my install, clear back from 1.125, for some reason the patch install will not work for me. All of my upgrades have been from the CW site directly, not from the help tab in designer. I down load the new version to the computer and then do the install.

I do not use the default location that comes up in the pop up window during the install. I think that is were it will over write the previous version.

During the install I type in the directory/folder I want it to install to. I name it the version that I am installing.

Hope this helps!
