I recently went through the posts on router bits stuck in the QC chuck. Why? 'Cuz, I had a bit stuck after the first ever pattern carved on my new CW.
I got some advice via PM on how to deal with it, but nothing worked. I did get the bit out, but the chuck was messed up.
The nice LHR folks immediately sent out a new part which arrived today and within five minutes of opening the package it was installed and ready to go. Just to be sure, I put a bit in and then took it out. Three times. Perfect.
How long did it take from the time I talked to the factory? THREE DAYS! Doggone, that's good!
The old one was a strange case. The outer part of the QC, the part that you pull up on to release the bit was not connected and when I pulled up on it after removal the outer shell just slid right up off the rest of the chuck. That explains why it wouldn't release the bits, huh?
Anyway, this is in the way of praise for the fast response from the LHR people. Thanks, all of you!
