First Litho attempt

My first attempt at a litho on my Carve Wright. First shows front view and second sitting in a window for the back illumination. The actual cutout size is 7 1/2 by 6 inch.

Anyone out there have a good source or idea for a way to backlight a box frame? I'm thinking maybe an LED array but maybe ya'll have already worked this one out.

For lightning, I've used a LED light I got at Lowes. Worked pretty good. Many on here use puck lights. Between us all, I think we've tried about everything available at one time or another. Your final choice will come down to how big a box you want for the litho, and of course cost. Don't use anything that gets too hot!

for the lighting, there are several posts about this on the forum. Puck lights, LED, 25 watt you name it.

Great job on the litho. For lights and boxes do a search for Lithos, lithophane or lithopane (s). lots of great ones done with all kinds of different technique.

I was wondering how you prepared the picture for the carve? also what program?

Sewpeck I used adobe photoshop to manipulate the photo, and the litho tutorial that is found at carvebuddy.com.

Because I cropped a digital photo and enlarged it a bit I found I needed to use the sharpen filter on the photo program to bring contrast and clean edges.

Doc, looks like this site has been around since at least March 2002, so perhaps they are not using a CW.

Their using a CNC router I seen the advertised in the cnczone while reserching bearings and rails. I will try to locate it again.
