I looked for a thread on this subject and couldn't find one.

I got the rollers out and am now ready to reinstall and can't get the rollers back in.

I noticed a sprocket type thingie (pardon my less than technical jargon) on one end and I am assuming that end faces the panel side of the machine. But I'll be danged if I can get it back in what looks like the slot for it.

Do I have to removed anything else besides what the directions said to?

I took out the sliding bar and that thing in the middle I had to squeeze and pull.

Anybody out there?

TIA

Maria

Got this

Sorry, the page you requested was not found.

And I can't seem to find belts anywhere - Sears says temporarily out of stock. Kwap.

Anyone know where I can get them and quickly?

Hi Shabby,

As you're looking from the keypad side, the "gears" go to the right and center of the machine. Be sure the little plastic belt guides on the trays face down when installing. You'll need to hold the gear end up and slide them in under the plate on the left. Then make sure the belt tray gears engage the X-axis gears and the tray lays flat before putting the bolts back in.

Also, for a little extra help if needed, see this post.

From my first experience with belts.

Hope this helps.

Hi Andes
That is what I used to get them out but it doesn't show how to get them back in - just says reinstall same way you took them out - and OF COURSE I can't remember which end went which way.

Thank you - just what I needed to know!

Now - where can I get belts in a hurry.

I have a confession to make. The belt ripped right in half so I just slid the good half down to the board end. Am I asking for trouble trying to run the machine that way?

It's killing me to be CW-less.

Hi Maria (sorry I didn't catch your name in your first post),

As far as "in a hurry"...lol well....I know you could call LHR and order them sent over night but, being that tomorrow is the fourth of July, I suspect you wouldn't see them until Monday or Tuesday at best. Which means there isn't much point to paying for over night shipping. I would still be sure you call them today and order them though.

How much of your belt is missing? I had to cut about 2 inches off mine. I put the cut end away from the keypad side and have been using it that way ever since. Over many months and probably somewhere around 150 hours of use since and still going strong.

As far as being "CW-less" <<<< (LOVE that...http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif), welcome to the club. We were ALL like that at some point so you're in good company in here. Lots of great folks always willing to help out.

Riverton is a ways but it would make a nice bike ride. If I had an extra set of belts, I'd meet you half way...sorry...http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/icons/icon9.gif

Call LHR and order them so at least you get them as quickly as possible.

Just found belts at

https://www.carvewright.com/

and cheaper than Sears by 5 bucks!

I have at least half and I am so happy to hear someone else likes to live dangerously - lol.

Hubby just called and told me not to do it but.........

Where do you live, Chris? Are you the guy with the Harley?

Yep, LHR or (CarveWright) is the place to order them. I just posted a question to all on your behalf (in the machine area) as to whether or not these belts are a "Standard Size" and available in like Home depot's or Lowe's or something.

Half a belt might be pushing it a bit but as long as your board isn't wider than the belt, you could "probably" run it a "little" till you get new ones. The only thing that would concern me is that the center of the roller "can" flex a little and that might cause the belt to track badly. If you can wait for the new ones, I'd recommend you do so.

I'm in the Northeast tip of PA. Moved from Jersey (Sussex County area) about 33 years ago. And Yep, I'm "one" of many guys in here with a Harley.

Michael (AKA Castingman) and I were just talking about that today here...

Listen! Can you hear it? Can you hear the whine of my CW?

Running smooth as can be on 1 1/2 belts - lol!

Thank you, guys, for all of your help. This forum is the best!

If hubby wasn't away I would have never tackled this on my own. I am feeling so smug right now - lol!

And yes! I did take the time to perform an extra good cleaning while I had it apart.

And I did order extra belts!

Anywhere near Scranton? I head up there a couple of times a year to visit relatives and troll through Olde Good Things - my favorite salvage yard.

We had a Vtwin Honda for a while - all black and chrome.

Took all of the logos off, added big fat pipes and it was real close to looking and sounding like a Harley.

Hopefully after we move to AZ we'll get a Harley - I love bikes.

Well, off to check on the CW - wanna make sure it's doing ok. I have a special order sign I am hoping to get done today.

Have a great holiday all!

Maria
