In the middle of a carve yesterday my machine went silent.
I thought that the carve had finished. I checked on it and the machine had quit in mid carve. No power, the LCD screen was blank power switch was on, dust collector was still running on the same outlet.
I called LHR and ran thru the check list.

1. Move z truck up/down, left/right and feel for resistance (no resistance with power off as it should be).
2. Plug memory card back in.
3. Turn power switch on.
4. Move z truck up/down, left/right and feel for resistance (still no resistance with power on) moving z truck you should feel resistance as the system/servos are energized.

No sign of power. LHR is sending a new power supply for a $40.00 core charge.
I will remove the power supply tonight and check for broken wire or cold solder joints and look for anything that does not look right.
I will post results when I have the solution.

You forgot the most important thing: Do a search of the forum first :)

Searched for 'power supply' and found this link among many others

Jeff,
Sorry I did not mention the search function in my check list.

Before I contacted LHR I did a search (power supply) and read every post on the forum on power supply failures to confirm I was having the same problems others had previously.

I was just trying to pass on the quick test that the LHR tech. had me perform.

Have a good one...

David

Called LHR last Monday about my bad power supply and had the new one on Thursday.
I installed it and I'm up and running again.
Today I will ship the bad power supply back to recover my $40.00 core charge.
