Using the spline tool

Is there a tutorial on using the spline tool? I have tried to copy the corbels and shelf brackets, but can not figure out how to use the spline tool.

Try turning on the Snap/Grid function and draw your straight lines with either the Connected Line Tool or Line Segment Tool first (just make sure the line end points are joined...i.e., the cursor turns into sort of a reddish "x"). Then use the spline tool to draw in your curves...three or four vertices are usually enough for a simple design like the corbels.

After that, you can adjust the curves by moving the vertices with your mouse. Depending on the amount of adjustment, you may or may not want to turn off the snap/grid function.

You can right click on the vertex of the connected line, go to intersect and change it to spline.
