Flexishaft question

I’m a newbie and I jus got my machine and the flexshaft assembly has there wires on the outside , am I supposed to remove them ? They appear as part of the assembly

The "Coat-hanger-type-wire" stays. If there are and twist ties on that wire (look like Bread wrapper ties), remove them.
