Think the X-axis Gear Blew

Was having the machine measure a board and when it started to measure the length it made grinding sounds and the board didn't move any more. Finally got the 400 error.

I think I need to check the x-axis gear. Any tips on the best way to do that? Anything else I should check before I call CC?

Sorry to hear about your X Gear.... First Question is why? Board tapered in thickness? Sand Paper rolled under the rollers? Right side guide TOO close to wood and caused binding?

Here are some pictures of the gears. 2 ways to do it.... Remove the motor to get the gear out, or do like ChrisAlb did and use a grinder to cut away the plastic lip keeping you from getting the gear out.... Next time I will cut the plastic lip.
