In the past I have been able to post pictures to the Forum. When I try now to upload a picture and click on the paperclip icon, the window does not open.I seem to be able to post text messages.I am not very computer literate. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is it a computer problem? Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

Have you tried skipping the paper clip and going directly to the
Manage Attachment tool bar, also remember to enter your text before trying to upload your photos

Are you refering to patterns the members post on the forum?
If so all I do is click the file and my computer ask do I wish to Open or Save, I save it to my hard drive, then open designer and import the pattern.
Good Luck

I see most of the pictures that are posted are very small (1x2)and hard to view the detail while others are larger and you can actually see the carving.

I have spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to make my image posts bigger and just can not figure it out. When I get the file size small enough the picture is only the 1x2 size. I am using paint.net and do not know if it is limited in doing this or is the a special trick in need to know. I am using the high resolution (5.1) setting on my camera when taking the pictures.

Anybody have any input???

fwharris,

I also use Paint.Net, and it works fine for me.
I'm wondering what size you use or what format your uploading your photos in.
I use .jpgs for the forum, here's two .jpg examples one at 29.0KBand the other at 110.1KB
The Thumbnails look the same, but when you open them you can see the difference.

I use irfan view (free download) re-size the image to 800 x 600 and 'Save As' a jpeg and adjust the file size to get under the limits, not the image size.

Ken,
I use the jpg format also. Most pictures start out at 2048X1536 or 2576X1716 dimension size. In paint.net maybe I am doing it wrong or reading the size format wrong. I went back and looked and some of my picture posts and I do have some that show up large. I will do some more playing around with it and see what I can figure out. Maybe part of my problem is usually do this stuff in the evening and my brain just isn't with it..

Thanks for the reply!!!

when you resize your photos with Paint.Net
