Hey Jack,

I just got home and saw your post,
try this thread of posts
are these settings right ? (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7112&highlight=lithophane) (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7112&highlight=lithophane) 2 (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7112&page=2&highlight=lithophane) 3 (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7112&page=3&highlight=lithophane))
and use key words like Litho, Lithophane, and Corian,
to do a search on the carving of Corian and Cast Acrylic,
that's how I got started http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

You need high resolution images with little or no background. The picture you have posted is too low of a resolution. 720P HDTV is a resolution of 1280X720. So as a rule of thumb look for pictures that are at least this big if not bigger.

Example:
Low Resolution Logo (http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Graphics/USCGSeal.jpg)

High Resolution Logo (http://www.af.mil/shared/media/ggallery/hires/AFG-071024-008.jpg)

*Cough* some of these High Res Seals look better than the ones in the PD *cough*.
