Brought back memories of when I was there many moons ago. I was with 214th FA working in S3. Actually belonged to 57th Sig Bn, but I was snatched up by Bde SGM before reporting to 57th Sig. Attended NCO Academy there (Honor Grad :)) Remember it being a nice post and had some good fishin' spots. The Wildlife Refuge, The Easter Sunrise, Meers Burgers close by! Great place, thanks for your service to our Country.

USS Guam was first American warship to go thru the Canal after the 73 Egypt/Israeli War. Also the first ship to carry the Harriers. Talk about fun to watch fly.

My grandfather was on the USS Wasp CV7 in WWII. He was an engineer on that part of the ship that was torpedoed. Unfortunately he lost his life and I never got a chance to meet him. I have a beautiful painting of the ship hanging over my Dinning room table.
