Finally cut something again...

Took some time out from programming to make wood chips again, and came up with this...

How deep did you carve the pic that it chippout out? Also what type of wood did you use.

I was using more of the 'finished birch plywood' I have been picking up pretty cheap around here. The surface is really nice looking. It does not look like plywood inside, though. It's closer to a particle board to my eyes. Cuts very well, even stains pretty decent.

When I cut it I had it set at .1 deep. The fine details between the lines chipped out. If I had it set down to, say, .008 it would have been okay I think. I have been doing these vectors cuts down in that range and they look good. Just spaced it this time, was all....

I could also have gone with a bigger carving too. That one was 8" tall by 6" wide, I think. Live and learn....
