Wood Magazine's July issue has a really great "shop test" article on the Compucarve(sorry CarveWright owners). They were very objective about the hardware and software, and focused on sign making abilities. The article wrap up was...
"If you make lots of signs or regularly incorporate decorative or carved elements into your projects, then you'll love this machine and should have no trouble realizing its value."
