From a little experiment it looks like the filled font works best which is $20.

Thanks for the info..very promising. Too bad they don't come more three dimensional. Still very useful.

Have you tried their 3-D font? It looks like that would give you a good look.

The 3D font is fine for a website or Word document or something like that but for the CW it's mostly just a black & white font, you get a high point which quickly drops where the "shadow" is.
It would probably be possible to make 3D patterns similar to the fonts then you just put them together to make a whole pattern. That I would imagine would be a lot of work but maybe a challenge for the pattern makers.
But for a quick design this works well. Just carved that sign and it came out really good. Will post a picture once it's finished. With sanding the knots take on a rounded shape, I use a sanding mop.

Finally finished. Sheesh finishes take awhile to dry. Carve time was about 4 hours, rest of the weekend was spent on the finish.

That came out great! Well worth the effort!
