Did a picture frame and thought the couout would be cut out. Surprised to find it ended up as a pile of sawduct

Stubrown,

If you do the cutout as a carve region or part of a pattern, it will be a pile of sawdust. If you use a square, oval, or outline and select the cutout tool, it will do a vector cut and leave the cutout area as one piece.
