I was searching threads for pattern techniques (trying to come up with a way to create patterns without going broke), and came across the attached I've entitled KC Chiefs. Was done about 18 months ago by someone I don't think is active any longer. I thought it looked a lot like an x-ray, had great height, detail, etc - looks great in a project. So I thought I'd search for x-ray photos, and see what I could come up with. The attached jpeg of Angel's Trumpet (a flower) is an x-ray photo I found, the attached mpc is what it looks like in a project after cleaning it up in the pattern editor, smoothing, etc.- pretty good detail, great depth, height, etc. There are many x-ray photos to be found if you search the 'net.

I also searched how to take a photo and give it an X-Ray look, thinking it may help photos for lithos. Sorry in advance if you guys are ahead of me on this one.

Here's what I found that applies to photo shop:

http://www.webdesign.org/web/photoshop/photo-editing/x-ray-effect.3963.html

Here's how I made it work in paint.net:

1. Open image
2. Adjustments: Invert Colors
3. Hue/Saturation: Hue down to -180, Saturation to 0

Save as .png and import to CW.

The attached show step 1 and 2 - I'll attach the others on another thread.

Hope I've contributed something.

Hope I've contributed something. Its great your trying to find an easier ways of using designer. Here is a picture of the car back that i did from your picture not much difference in the end but what i did there was no adjusting anything all the detail is still there and it is one step (one button). Plus you don't have to look for x-ray pictures any will do. Hope i did not miss under stand what you are trying to do.
