First truly custom request

Customer came in, said she had a friend that was so wealthy she did not have any idea what she could get her for a gift that would be unique.

She decided on a custom plaque. She said her friend was especially fond of her koi pond and two of the koi inparticular. She wanted something that looked oriental, had the two koi painted to match the real fish. She loved the very first design. I kind of hated to give it to her, wanted to keep it after it was done.

My wife did the painting. The wood is cherry several coats of sanding sealer, painted with red and a red transparent wash around the outside with black lining the edges then gloss sparvarnish finish. The font is Rickshaw. The japanese word "Tomodachi" is in the center, it means friend.

Yes, that is the one you made. Thats why I didn't post the mpc. Even though it was custom made, not sure about the copyright stuff so no mpc.

When I was studying japanese I had the Japanese addition to microsoft word on my old computor I made several patterns of Japanese words.
