At the end of a 3 hour carve I had a Y Error but it finished and asked for the next bit but it was offset to the right about 2 inches. It faulted after I changed the bit, then I saw the offset cut.

I checked the encoder for skipping and belt tension. I would say belt tension was a little loose. I think the real problem was the 1/16 inch bit... I think after about 700 hours.... I think it needs sharpening or replacement.... This oak proved to be a little tuff for the old girl... I restarted and it zeroed OK so I am thinking replace the bit and tighten the belt.

I think I can salvage the logo and cut it out.

Hey Al,

Had it happen to my machine in March, I checked the Y drive belt because it loosened up a couple of times last year, but it was tight no problem there.
I also checked the drive gears but they were fine too, I talked to Omar at LHR, he said it was rare but it might be the Y drive motor itself,
So I replaced it and sure enough that was it. All's well for now (Shhh) don't want to say that to loud.

Cost me a Board Foot of Oak..... On a carrier board to conserve wood....

If it happens again I will order the motor.

Thanks,
