Kenm810,

Would it be possible to get the pattern for this. My neighbor's daughter just had a baby girl and this would be wonderful item to give her -- it very creative. I am currently awaiting parts, but hope to be back up in a couple of weeks, and would love to carve this.

Thanks

Mothers Day is the day after my birthday this year...and will be the first year without my mom. What a wonderful woman.

Thank you for the reminder and the jog in the memories of my mom.

I am going to make her one, she'll love it. Will have to be one for my wife as well, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.... you're awesome.

Keep up the good work,

Sure Andes,

I'm always willing to share,
I'm at work for another few hours and the file is on my desk computer at home.
I'll post it as soon as I get there.

Remember it's a .mpc vector file there is no .ptn file for it,
The Centerline Text and Drawing is all carved with 60 Degree Bit and only takes a few minutes.

Here ya go,

This is the .mpc file of “A Mothers Voice”
There is no .ptn file or pattern use so, save the .mpc to a folder, copy and paste the file to your desk top only then open it with Designer.
Any changes you make, centering, or moving any of the Vector Lines will change the Drawing. (Use the edit undo) it may be difficult for some folks to correct.
If you do want to move or change the size of the Drawing use the select all in the edit menu to hold the drawing together as you move it.
You’ll be surprised how quick and easy it is, to turn the whole thing into a birds nest.
If your centering any part of it including the text you will not be able to move it until the centering is clicked off or released.
I did the edge og on my routing table to save time on the machines cut motor.

Test carve on a piece of 5/8" birch Plywood --hmmm no chipout or clean up

Thanks Ken,

I like it just the way it is, so no changes are needed ;-} Thanks for sharing, can't wait to carve it.

Another Drawing with Text, all vector carved with the 60 degree Bit, no bit changes.

I add the Classic OG. edge with a router table after the piece is cut out.
A little color can be added with colored pencils after it's carved

b.sumner47,

I posted a few different Doves in the Bone Corian (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6627) (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6627) 2 (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6627&page=2)) Thread,
was it one of the Vector drawings or a litho carving.
If not do you happen to remember about how long ago it was posted.

I'd be happy to repost it for you

Capt.Barry,
Besides the link Ken posted are these the ones you were thinking of?

http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4573&highlight=dove

I found these in my saved folder and then did an advanced search for "kenm810" and "Dove". Only two posts showed up.

Hope these are them.
Bob

Thanks for the reminder AND the mpc! If someone doesn't remind me...I forget birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day.....

I'm on my second carve of four. I put your pattern inside a carved picture frame. 2.5 hr carve but all the recipients are very much worth it.

I'll post a pic of the finished projects. One is getting shellac'd as I type.

My two daughters are getting one "signed" by their kids/grandchildren, my wife is getting one from the kids, and I'm giving my mom one. I inscribed Happy Mother's Day on the backs with the specific kid's names. The hole is a pilot hole for taking to the router for a keyhole slot...simplifies alignment/centering.

Thanks again Ken.

Stain is Verathane "Cabernet", with several coats of spray shellac (the high gloss isn't visible in the photo). Only thing left is cut the keyhole slot and put in the mail.

Nice looking job love the color of the finish, Almost bought some of that Caberna last night for a different project now I wish I had bought it.
Guess I better get going on a mothers day project and to make things harder it's the fishing opener here that same weekend.
