New CW arrived yesterday but

I unpacked it, put it on the bench, cleaned it up a little, and lubed the power shaft. While looking for the serial number and thinking it would be in the software, turned on the machine and nothing happened. Checked outlets and cords, all okay. The LCD didn't change. Virtually nothing happened. Inserted the memory card and still nothing. Do I have to have something on the card? There was sawdust inside so I'm assuming it was tested before shipping. Is there a breaker somewhere? - No bit installed, does that matter? I found a number plate on the front and used that number to register the software. At least I saved the packing material.:cry:

Yes, you need to format the card & have at least just a simple project on it.
The software puts the current firmware on the card, and that is what runs the machine.

(must be something about receiving the machine - as mentioned in someone else's post as well - I'm getting sick and probably take tomorrow off work - oh well - something to do :o)
