Cut Path woes...."board too thick"

Watch the bit as it touches down on teh bit plate, is it hitting the flat part? Do you have the sliding guide up by the board and is the bit touching down on top of it?

do you mean the bit plate over on the far side (that pops out when you load a bit)?

And the sliding guide is over by the board...but I could have sworn the head was plunging on the near side of the wood.....I'll try again and pay better attention.
