DA-15 Computer Connector on Rear of Machine

Does anyone know the purpose of the computer connector on the botton rear of the machine? It's a 15 pin connector with 8 on top and 7 on bottom. It's in the configuration of a DA-15 connector.

I've heard stories of:

1. Diagnostics Port
2. Expansion Port for future 4th axis control
3. Plot by aliens to destabilize the world's governments
