But I couldn't have made it without the CarveWright

Before WWII, my father worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. After he passed away I got his railroad watch - did a bit of research and also had it appraised - made in 1904 and worth between $1800 and $2000

I always wanted to do something with it and this is what I finally got - was able to download the Hampden Watch Co logo and clean it up to carve. I think this turned out OK and looks good in my office at home

Dega,

Great project!
My dad was also a U. P. railroader (33 yrs). I have one of his RR watches. I carried it for a while but thought it was too special so now it is just laying on my dresser.

My Mom gave a pattern of a train from a woodworking mag. and your post has given me some ideas..

Thanks for posting this...

What a great idea. I have my great uncle's old railroad watch. I'll have to do something similar to display it.

Dega;
Sweet idea! I have a collection of old RR watches and pocket watches. You have me thinking now, your idea is a lot better then keeping then in a drawer.
