problem outlining image

when I paste this in CarveWright then try to outline it, I get a square path.

I want to cutout the shaded shape with and use it as a shelf bracket.

any ideas?

You have to remove a white background behind the bracket before you upload it

How did you remove the background?

I'm using Corel Photo Paint and I can delete the white area like you have on the right but when I either save or copy and paste it comes back.

You need to save the image in a PNG or Gif format. The CW uses PNG files.

you need to create a PNG or GIF file with your graphics editor after you remove the background. Then open Designer, Under File pick on Import Image and select your file. Pick on Next. Look at it spin it around if necessary invert the image. When it looks OK pick on Save and save it ti you the Favorites Pattern Library.
