Every once in a while I get an order that is non military and I love them… Here is a stamp collector’s cabinet. Measures 30 inches wide, 34 inches high and 21 inches deep. It also has 2 adjustable shelves inside. The graphics took about 16 hours to get them right; the images are carved 0.25 deep in aspen (wanted to keep the weight down). Total carve time 6 hours. Problems with the CW none!!!
Happy Carving

Can we see what you did to the interior? This is such a great idea. I was an avid collector when I was younger and still have quite an interest in stamps.

The inside is nice and bright. The boards on the doors are hardwood to keep them from bowing or cupping and as I wrote the shelves are adjustable.

I first used colonial maple and then cherry.

Vey nice there DH! I like it! Gotta love them carvings. You said six hours on carve. Was that for both pieces? Very good that would work nice for any kind of cabinet. Also be a nice bar addtion. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the inspiration - that is perfect for my collection, too! Where did you get the pictures of the stamps? You have me started on a mission!

If found high resolution images of ben and george on the net (not stamps)... Worked on them in Photoshop CS3, brought them into pattern editor and finished them up. The rest of the stamps where created with designer (as close to the real stamps as possible). Sounds easy but took a little time and a few test cuts.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
