This is just a test piece I did this evening. I still have a lot to learn. It's a picture of my granddaughter that I converted. I used red oak. The results are not too bad. Now to figure out the best finish to apply.

Nice work there Tim! Thanks for sharing. Not sure about the stain though its kind of hit or miss with me. I do like to use a sanding sealer or conditioner before staining carvings due to the changes in wood texture. Keep up the good work and keep posting.
