Head Locking Lever Problem?

I'm a brand new user -- less than 24 hours. My question: The head locking lever does not seem to stay locked. I pull it to the locked position, but there is nothing to keep it there -- no "click" or stop or locked position.

Any ideas?

No worries, it's only apressure lock --No ckick --as a matter of fact -there are several folks
that have posted that the red head lock it redundant and is not really needed, so they just don't bother to use it.

It just pulls out & doesn't lock. I never use it at all. Maybe with a long heavy board, you might.

lock lever??? oh, that red thingy just above where the wood goes.... hmmmm.... haven't used it yet!
