Hello All i am new to the forum, From what I can see the machine looks great. But have not layed hands on one yet. Doing some research on the web there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews.

Now I know when computers are involved, some poeple believe that the computer is a mind reader. and I think this may be some of the problems, and other people just dont get along with machines period.

I guess I need some advise, and I know that on this forum it will be heavily weighted to the pro side.

But can you guys give me the pros and cons on this machine?

thansk

PROS

Do stuff you may not currently be able to do.
Doesn't cost $20,000 like the other machines.
The learning curve isn't that bad for the software.
Chance to make money on selling your designs as well as carvings.
Great addition to your hobby.
Opens the doors to many other options in your creative skills.

CONS
Loud as heck (wear ear protection).
Can have wear and tear of parts (but what machine doesn't?).
Slow (but how long would it take you to hand carve?).

Really, unless you have a lot of money to buy a bigger machine, this is pretty much a great item to have. I could see a machine that cuts larger sized wood might be better, but you're looking at $20,000 or more versus $2,000. That extra zero is a big deal to most. Really, for hobby use, the size it does is fine anyway. I'd have to recommend the machine and I just got mine.
