Hi all! I bought the full bit set and I'm about to do my 'pre-flight' maintenance on the set screws with loc-tite etc.

The bits were shipped with a protective coating on them. Is there a recommended way to remove the coating, heat perhaps?

Thanks!

Rob

Rob,

Remember to use a solvent to remove any oil or grease form all the metal parts,
or it may prevent the loc-tite form setting up properly http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I put a little heat from a butane lighter on it and the it peeled right off. You could see it just separate from the bit.

Yep on the solvent!!!! i used something i had around called gun scrubber... strips everything... just remember to re-lube.

Once again... the forum cam through!!!

Thanks to all.
