Just wondering how long a machine should last. I just got mine for Christmas and now have about 40 hours on it. I can't afford to buy one a year! Any ideas?

Hoping that it will last as long or longer than my table saw with a flex shaft, going on 15 years or so now. I only have 20 hours on mine so far.

Like any machine there are plenty of variables. How hard is it used, how well is it maintained, is it abused or not.

My machine, now going on 8 months and 150+ hours, runs like a champ. I've never had any serious issues at all with it and I run it pretty hard. It works an average of 5 hours a day non stop. I'll be Starting a 13 hour carve tomorrow. Just lucky? Maybe, but here's how I treat mine...

Clean and vacuum before, "during" and after every carve. Yep during. I don't have any dust collection or downdraft tables or dust blowing setups. I stop it about every 15 or 20 minutes by lifting the cover and vacuum out the dust. After every carve I clean the dust and chips out of the chuck. I clean & lube as per the instructions. Basically, I baby it while making it work like a dog...LOL

I have no complaints at all and still running strong.
