I just received my machine. Attempting first try with a 12in cedar. I am getting an error 400 and board sensor error. Can anyone help? I have tried wiping the sensor, and masking tape under what I think is the line for measurement?

Since you have a new machine it would be worth checking a few things.

First: Make sure that the head (part that travels up/down with the crank) is level. You'll notice that there are two flat spots on the top of each of the four vertical guide posts. Measure from the bottom of a flat spot to the top of each guide bushing. This measurement should be the same all the way around.

Second: You must have the proper down pressure on the board. Make sure you are cranking down until the handle ratchets 4-5 times. If you have a bathroom scale you can check the pressure by placing it in the machine under the rubber rollers. Crank the handle until it ratchets 4-5 times. You should have a reading of #85 or so.

Third: in the back of the users manual it describes a test to test the board sensor. Run the test and tell us what readings you have.

Fourth: If you shop is really cold, say below 50 degrees, you will have problems. How warm is your shop?

Thanks Jeff, I figured that problem out and tye machine started working fine now I am having a door sensor problem the machine worked for 10 min and then it came up with the door sensor. The machine would start and stop in 3-4 seconds and will not restart. I have now taken the top off and there is a circuit board loose inside a small circuit board wiith a phillips screw that will not screw back in, could that be my problem?

thank you for your help!!!!!!

Ok. forget that, I found a screw suitable to attach that small board and its in good now. I dont detect any loose wires or connectors not in all the way. Ive read different blogs about unplugging a 3/8in connection in the back of the z axis. In doing that, I have also read other problems occur? Whats your thought on that? Any other ideas? or should I start getting on the phone? I realize this to be a learning process and really appreciate your help.

under the door sensors just a little and your door sensor problem may go away.

There are two switches on the door. The front one (keypad side) will give you the "Close door" type message, the rear one cuts power to the cut motor. If you follow the wiring harness that runs along the front of the top cover you will see that it plugs into a small circuit board on the left hand side of the machine. Is that plugged in?

Thanks Jeff,
As far as I can tell, see, feel, all of the connections are made. There arent any loose wirings that I can tell. Any other ideas? Last night I removed the top cover and looked closer and it all looks in order.
I think the wiring harness you are referencing is one I had to diconnect last night in order to gain accress. Does that sound right? I made sure that is plugged back in when I put it back together. It was not unplugged..:???:

You might want to look for where the switches are mounted in top cover and see if the front one is a bit loose.

When I did a sensor check the sensor on the key board say it all checked out.
C ould it still be that problem?
