Retrieve project back from Flash Card

I'm sure this has been asked before. But until my computer crashed I paid no mind. Can I retrieve my projects back from the flash card, if so how?

Previously, when I downloaded a file it was directed to my "Download" files. Suddenly, my downloads go to my desktop. How can I change this back? I have Vista.

If you are using internet exploer for your browser. When you click a file to download it should go to a screen showing you are downloading a file you click ok then then it will go to a second screen showing where it is DL'ing too you can change it there

This just says it is downloading to the desktop, and I can't see any way to change the direction of the save.
