project unreadable

While running a project, when it got to about 29% the machine stopped and the screen said "project unreadable (9)". I tried a new board but same result.
I have a small centerline carving on the underside, not near any edge.
I pulled up the image on the designer and it looked good. Any advice very greatly appreciated. Other than this I've been having a ball!
