I live in Exeter, Central CA, and would love to touch base and possibly visit somebody who has a system so I may try out a project before I buy and ship one to Bulgaria later this year.

Check the electrical standards in Bulgaria before you send a CW there. The CW is only available for 110V/AC usage.
