Anyone have any luck carving fonts? Not large but maybe 3/4 or smaller? No matter what configurations i come up with am unable to keep from chipping or completely routing out the letters....Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

I've been able to carve fonts donw to 3/8 heigh w/Center Line. Try the spacing. I set it around 20-25. Times New Roman seems to work pretty good.

I have carved 3/4" letters with success. First set your height to 750-999 depending on what font style. Then you will need to use a hardwood or HDU, softwood, like pine, cedar, redwood etc. will chip easier then say cherry.

Good luck,

I just did a quick search on Text And New DraftTool
See if this helps --- Help with Pattern (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?t=5738&highlight=Draft) (http://forum.carvewright.com/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?t=5738&highlight=Draft) 2 (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?t=5738&page=2&highlight=Draft))

If you have a photo editing program try a slight blur on your text. I rounds the edges just enought to prevent chip out.

If you happen to be using the latest version of Designer just use the "Draft" tool. It eliminates having to use a paint program to smooth your text.

Where is the Draft tool? Nothing shows up in help. Or do you mean when you upload it to the card?

Hi Randy,

You should find it in your 1.125 Designer Tool Bar

Randy,
OR you could try the " outline option ". It makes the letters a lot smother.
