For everyone who enjoys working on Corian, here's a new idea: You can bend it!
I made a night light, and bent it around a form. The light behind it is much more evenly distributed than when it was flat, and it hugs the wall pretty well. It's also easy to do. I have not yet done a detailed photo, but as you can see the angel had very little distortion from the bend. My wife wants me to mix it up with some wood, and make some mugs. Carved wall sconces, round photo light boxes, ???
I thought maybe others could think of things to do with this....

That is pretty awesome! What do you do? Do you put it in the oven around a wooden form or something? I've flattened schedule 40 PVC that way already.

Uh, yah. (sheepish grin). Did I forget to mention how? Sorry about that.
Bake it at 300 degrees F. for about 5- 8 minutes. Keep a eye on it, when it starts to bend a little it goes fast. I laid it straight on the oven racks, thinking it was easier to hide one of them from the wife than a baking dish, if it messed them up. It doesn't.
Have a form handy to bend it around. You have a minute or two to work it, but not a whole lot more. I used a 3.25" metal electrical conduit I had around, and it works pretty good to help cool it down.
The Corian was 1/4" thick, about 5.75" by 6.25". You can do it with half inch, but the baking time would be different, and it distorts the carving more.
I really like the way a small night light behind it evenly lights the entire carving with needing a reflector behind it...

Ok. Now you've got me thinking. This opens up a whole new avenue of possibilities.

Kudos on the discovery dougmsbbs !!

Thank you! It feels good to give back a bit for all that this forum has helped me out. I have been thinking of this for a while, but just didn't get around to expermenting with it until my CW had to go back to Texas.
Sigh. Sure miss that thing...

My designer has no such angel and in fact, there's no "Friezes" under favorites either??? Is it possible we get different packages with the machine? Just curious??

The Angle was the only one listed in the early software versions,
If you still have your demo software copy,
you’ll find it there in "Friezes" along with a few other files under different headings
not included under "favorites or basic" in the newer versions out lately.
The one "IM2HAPPI" posted was the original
