My power supply went bad....14 hours of carve time :(

Anyone have any guesses what causes a power supply to go bad?

There is a large coil that breaks off the board. Try doing a search for "power supply" for more information.

Search is your friend.....

There's very specific info on the site about this problem. Check http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?t=3227&highlight=l2+coil for the most descriptive post on the problem.

Mine went bad last week. I took the board out and the L2 coil was indeed loose. LHR will cross ship a new power supply board to you for $40. When you send the bad one back, they'll credit your account.

I am not recommending this to you, so don't hold me responsible for your actions. I re-soldered the L2 coil on my power supply board then used hot melt glue to prevent future vibration from breaking it again. You may or may not have enough of an end on the broken side to re-solder. You're safest and best bet is to order a new power supply board.
